Have you ever had surgery? What for?

I’ve had a child cut from the womb, that’s not unique. And I feel extremely lucky to have survived it. Something that is “routine” can easily be taken for granted, especially in a country where you have safe access to it.

I’m in awe of the skill and experience it takes to perform surgery…when you think of ways it could go wrong. I’ve been on the other side of the operating table, as a once upon a time, student nurse, seeing them work. Surgeons have nerves of steel as well as tools. Maybe this post title should also be “Hail Surgeons! And all that assist them!” Thank you.
